Thomas Dick LLD (1774-1857) was a Scottish scientist and astronomer who manufactured his own telescopes. He was instrumental in the Scottish Enlightenment and helped bridge the gap between science and faith. One of the most popular authors of his time, he wrote several major works including The Christian Philosopher, Or, The Connexion of Science and Philosophy with Religion; and, The Philosophy of a Future State. Ordained Presbyterian, he advocated the doctrine of universal salvation (universalism) throughout his life. ; We have graded this item Fair.
