All text pages bordered in attractive red decor. ; Copyright 1850. Second edition, with new preface, also 1850. This is an illustrated reprint of second edition, 1892-1893. Partly based on manuscript by Fray Antonio Agapida. Washington Irving was Ambassador to Spain 1842-1846 and penned several historical works on Spanish history including this, describing the struggle of Castilian rulers Ferdinand and Isabella against the Moors of Granada, leading to the Conquest in 1492.; Cloth sunned on spines and edges of boards, with moderate fraying at heels and crowns. Gilt is bright and easily read. Many unopened pages. No marks. Bindings tight. Quite an attractive set.
