He was a Unitarian, briefly a minister, and taught Greek at Harvard. In 1840 his literary career came to a screeching halt when he announced he was the Second Coming of Christ. ; Book shows no sign of wear, but 44 pages near front have underlining and/or brief margin notes in a small hand, by former owner, a Unitarian Universalist minister. Otherwise no defects to book. Jacket clipped, bottom edge has small chips, but everything is readable.
