84 pages; 4to (11") 28 cm; Tall hardcover, dark blue buckram cloth, 5th Air Force (5AF) insignia on front, green-tinted photo endpapers, 84 unnumbered pages, tons of group photos, aircraft photos, etc. Little text. ; Illustrations by Charles Pearson. Cartoons by B. & C. ; Military photos for the most part, but some also of Australian aborigines, grass huts, kangaroos, etc. Some nudes. ; Exterior shows light wear, maintly to crown. Pages are clean but slightly wavy. Binding tight. Quite scarce. ; Five relevant items laid in: 1) group photo, 23 men in two rows, palm trees in background, marked "Vic upper (back) row second from left" on rear. 2) portrait photo of an airman, marked "24800P" on rear, presumably Vic. 3) "Where Next Moves in Pacific May Be Made," 4-page section of Detroit Times, 2 Jan 1945, with large map in black and red. 4) vintage patch, olive-green subdued, Technical Sergeant insignia, five stripes, and, hand-sewn to the rear of this item, a scrap of old cloth hand-marked AA with drawing of bird. 5) vintage patch, silver-toned, aircrew wing insignia with small eagle in central circle.
