72 pages; 24mo (5.75") 15 cm; Black leather spine, gilt lettering, marbled boards, b/w frontispiece and a few spot illustrations. Brief poem. 16-pg publisher catalog in rear. ; 19th century moralizing for Christian girls and young women. No author credited. 'When a young woman attempts to dress above her station, she is made vain and conceited' and so forth. ; Several pages show light foxing or thumb smudges, none obscuring text. Boards quite rubbed, particularly at corners, which have been rounded off. Frontispiece edges chipped, creased around edges, one closed tear affecting image. Binding tight. All pages attached, everything readable. Scarce in any condition.
