Beautifully marbled boards, edges and endpapers. Index. 2-3 engravings and about 350 pgs per vol. ; National poet of Ireland, Roman Catholic with universalist beliefs, lived 1779-1852; much in London, Bermuda, Europe; author of Harp That Once Through Tara's Halls and other beloved songs and poems; held some political appointments; lived high; rubbed shoulders with literati and nobility; narrowly escaped debtor's prison.
