Not a traditional book but a large fold-out three-color 'Township Map of the State of Maine With Adjoining Portions of Canada and New Brunswick', measuring (30 x 38 inches) (76 x 96 cm) made from steel engraving on onionskin paper, hand colored, with beautiful ornate border, folded and bound in hardcover for long use. ; Map produced by Joseph Hutchins Colton, published by his sons, George W. Colton and Charles B. Colton, 1874. ; A touch of foxing here and there. Some of the intersections of two folds have small closed tears, none obscuring any text. A few old pencil marks on rear, which is unprinted. Date (March 21st 1874) penciled on front endpaper. Exterior shows almost no wear, binding tight.
