Some were printed on the pages, as published; some are pasted in from old clippings; but most are written on blank pages in fountain pen in a very neat hand. ; Some of the handwritten recipes are: Tomato marmalade. Tangy tartar sauce. Mrs Scribner's Texas hash. Apples a la Vernor. Wassail serves 40. Vanilla caramels. Peanut brittle. Filipina roll. Chocolate joy icing. Ginger ale jelly. Maude's brown bread. Oysters wrapped in bacon. Salad boquet 8 servings. Golden glow salad. Irene Pavloska's waffles. Cold water cake. Bread and butter pickles. Many more. ; We acquired this item in 2013 from the living estate sale of an elderly lady in Detroit, who said it was her mother's. There is no date but we estimate 1925. ; Condition: Worn but intact. Some pages show edgewear and discoloration from paste, but everything is readable. Binding is tight. Quite rare and certainly unique. Sold as is.
