Lovely black moire endpapers, black moire page lifter. Three inner rings spaced 3.5 inches apart. 11 black leaves (22 pages) on heavy board stock. ; No date but Burkhardt was founded 1911. We estimate this item about 1915.; Exterior shows moderate rubbing and wear, mainly on rear cover. All rings function and are aligned correctly. No photos. No marks. Rare and quite attractive.

Hundreds of b/w illustrations; scores of glossy plates, some in color; numerous b/w, 2-color, and 3-color maps per vol, many fold-outs. ; Preface by Hugh Chisholm. Handy edition stated. Full index of authors and their topics at front of each vol. Final vol contains complete index. About 900 pages per vol. Date on half titles is 1910-1911. Each article written new for this edition, by top experts in field; this is the Rolls Royce of encyclopedias. ; Minor wear, mainly to crowns of four vols, which show very small closed tears. No major defects. No marks. Interiors pristine. All bindings tight and intact. Extremely scarce in this condition.

Nice memorial page for Principal William R. Stocking, 1881-1949. ; Not to be confused with Redford Union high school, Redford high school was situated in northwest Detroit and served students in Old Redford, Grandmont, Rosedale Park and Brightmoor; it graduated two classes per year, one in January, one in June; each class had its own colors. This yearbook is for January graduating class of 1950, yellow and navy blue. ; We have graded this item Poor. Binding is almost completely shot but center pages are holding together. All pages are present but some are photocopies, not originals. Many leaves have small edge-tears and creases but everything is readable. Many marks, names, greetings, etc, in pen and pencil. Quite scarce. Sold as is. ; Items laid in: 1) color glossy photo of photocop from 50th Anniversary Reunion. 2) four articles on champion girls swim team, with Jean McConnell's name underlined, all photocopies. 3) clipping on birth of Jean McConnell in 1931, photocopy.

The main text is a Fijian-English dictionary, with extensive data on word forms, grammar, etc. The second section is an English-Fijian dictionary, to be used as an index. ; Originally published 1941. This is 2nd edition, 1957. ; Words of Bau dialect of Fijian language, as taught in schools of Fiji, plus botanical words. Latin (English-language) characters throughout. ; A touch of shelfwear to bottom edge. Otherwise no signs of wear. The only notable defect is a small indentation to the front endpaper, apparently made long ago by a bookworm. No marks or scribbles. Pages are clean and crisp. Binding is tight. Appears to have never been used.
