463 pages; 16mo (6.5") 17 cm; Small hardcover, black buckram over flexible boards, rounded corners, all edges red, floral endpapers, 463 pages, dozens of photos and illustrations, including 26 knots illustrated, some b/w, some in red and black. Many displayads with 2-, 3-, or 4-digit phone numbers. ; Complete subtitle: 'A Directory of Names, Pennant Numbers and Addresses of all Members, Also a List of Vessels of the Great Lakes, American and Canadian, with Names and Addresses of Owners, Other Information of a Miscellaneous Nature of Interest in Shipping Circles of the Great Lakes.' Memorial pages compiled by Peter Thompson and James B. Lyons. ; Exterior shows hardly any sign of use. Interior is nearly pristine but we did find a few pages with faint juvenile pencil scribbles. No other defects. Quite scarce.

Old b/w bookplate with name in fountain pen. Gilt on spine worn and nearly unreadable. Interior clean, binding tight. Quite scarce. ; Two items included: 1) small booklet, Highland Park (Michigan) Commandery No. 53, list of members, 1943, 24 pgs, affixed to front endpaper.. 2) booklet, Grand Commandery, Knights Templar of Michigan, 1943, 16 pgs, articles by William J. Cameron, Arthur J. Lacy, Fred B. Freeman, laid in.

Main text in 2 columns. ; Copyright 1873. This is new and revised edition, 1912. Originally written by Albert G. Mackey, this edition revised and updated by William J. Hughan and Edward L. Hawkins. Vol-1, A-L, frontispiece steel engraving portrait of Albert Mackey. Vol-2, M-Z, frontispiece steel engraving portrait of Charles T. McClenahan. (Complete subtitle: 'New and Revised Edition, 1912, Comprising the Whole Range of Arts, Sciences and Literatures As Connected with the Institution, Profusely Illustrated') ; Very minor shelfwear, mainly to crowns. Slight wrinkle to spine of vol-1, not affecting lettering. No marks. Interior is clean, gilt edges crisp, binding tight. A beautiful set.
